As there has been renewed interest in impact evaluation and measuring results in recent years amongst development agencies and donors, this paper contributes by highlighting experience on combining qualitative and quantitative methods for impact evaluation. This is to ensure that: 1. the different impact of donor interventions on different groups of people is measured; 2. the different dimensions of poverty are measured. The paper concludes that the case for qualitative and combined methods is strong.
